The Scale of the Universe

I am on a brief hiatus from blogging and will return later in February.

In the meantime, I recommend this website to you for which I am indebted to A Frank Angle, who listed this site – with instructions – in his December 29, 2012 post.

It is such a wonderful way to get a perspective view of the scale of the universe that I am re-posting it here.

The image below is what you probably will see first after clicking the link. Notice the following:

  • The Scroll bar, which is located at the bottom of the interactive field, is for zooming in and out.
  • Click any image to learn more.
  • It may take time to load and the Start button will display the loading status.
  • Once loaded, click Start.

Have fun and I will resume grouchiness when I return.

  1. Off finding more to grouse about? In the meantime I’ll be over here feeling insignificant thanks to that link. I am not sure I’ll make it past the Homunculus Nebula before I start crying.

  2. Whoa!! That was amazing! Thanks for sharing that. Was it just me or could others still make out Kim Kardashian’s butt from the Andromeda Galaxy?

You’ll be missed, CaL! Be well. I’ll be here with my stupid comments when you get back! No worries. 🙂
